Communities and residents throughout south Placer this weekend will celebrate America’s 246th Independence Day or Fourth of July, which falls on Monday.

Rocklin kicks off the holiday weekend by hosting “Celebrate America” at 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at Twin Oaks Park, 5500 Park Drive, Rocklin. The event is sponsored and organized by the Destiny Community Center in Rocklin.

The event includes a firework show, a military tribute, patriotic musical performances and reenactments based on American, historical events on both nights.
