Position:             Event Services Team Member (Part-Time)

Type:              Part-time position, expected to work non-regular hours; graveyard, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Event Staff reports to @the Grounds Management team and works closely with all departments @the Grounds. The Event Services Team is responsible for setting up and breaking down events, cleanliness of the facility, and general maintenance around the campus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Event Services staff is responsible for the following:

  • Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications set by the Event Manager. This includes considerable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from storage areas to meeting rooms.
  • Breaking down all room set-ups so the area can be reset for the next function.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to all guest/client requests.
  • Works with other departments to provide exceptional guest and client services.
  • Adhere to all @the Grounds security, policy, and procedures to ensure safety.
  • Work with the Events Department throughout your shift to ensure events run smoothly.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the buildings and campus.
  • Ensure the campus, facilities, and restrooms remain clean and are presentable at all times, before, during, and after events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to read and write utilizing the English language.
  • Must be able to follow directions.
  • Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, rain, or cold weather.
  • Must be able to stand, for an extended period of time, up to an entire shift, depending on the task assigned.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.  
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team.
  • Must have and maintain a California Driver’s License (CDL) and be eligible to be insured by our insurance provider.
  • Must be respectful to internal and external clients at all times.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must remain calm in a crisis and high-pressure events and situations.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: the ability to quickly solve issues is a plus.

Parking Attendants

@the Grounds is currently seeking energetic and upbeat individuals to join our parking team. Our team members are the first people our guests interact with as they enter our facility. Event Manager

Operations · Roseville, California


Position:              Event Manager (Full-Time + Benefits)

Type:                    Full-time (exempt) position, expected to work non-regular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation:  $24.00-28.00/hr. depending on experience

Mission

To ensure the sustainable operation and management of @the Grounds as a premier sporting, meeting, event, festival, fair, concert, and celebration destination focusing on local rentals and events that achieve specific hotel room night goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensures successful event coordination activities by monitoring events and maintaining close contact with clients and staff to ensure a successful service level is achieved.

Meets with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and /or events.

Guides clients in the preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies, and procedures.

Keeps clients informed as to the status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, insurance requirements, and other relevant details.

Approves final event billing.

Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to operational departments.

Maintains Event-related reports, information, and files.

Attends and coordinates appropriate planning, organization, and event meetings.

Maintains the proper image and generates positive public relations with patrons and staff.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with police, fire, EMT, and other security personnel and/or safety organizations.

Handle complaints, disturbances, or related problems with the public, staff, or clients.

Investigate, report, and provide follow-up on incidents including damage or injury to the facility or individuals.

Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends & holidays.

Works with other @the Grounds departments to provide exceptional guest and client services.

To ensure safety, adhere to all @the Grounds security, policy, and procedures.

Position requires step climbing, and walking, and may be subject to physical confrontations; indoor and outdoor working conditions, as well as working in extreme temperatures for long periods.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry terminology, facility capabilities, operational procedures, event coordination and event-related services, and food and beverage operations.
  • Handle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously for the entire department.
  • Demonstrate the principles and techniques of supervision, training, budgeting, and other administrative duties.
  • Handle conflicts and exercise proper action during high-tension and stressful situations.
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • Organize and prioritize staff workload to meet deadlines.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Must be effective in both written and verbal communication.

Education/Experience

  • Minimum two to three years of work experience as an event planner, event coordinator, or event manager in a multi-purpose venue. Must have proven event and venue operations experience and knowledge.
  • A degree from an accredited (4) year college or university is preferred.
  • Experience in the event or the hospitality profession is required.

Position:              Maintenance Manager (Full-Time + Benefits)

Salary:                 $25-$27 per hour

Type:              Full-time (Non-exempt) position, expected to work non-regular hours; as needed, including overnight shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the Facilities Director and works closely with all departments @the Grounds. This Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining the successful operation and function of all equipment located within the @ the Grounds campus, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC (heating ventilation air conditioning).  This position must have experience and knowledge of carpentry, painting, and masonry work in order to maintain the interior and exterior of the @the Grounds Campus. This position will assist with enforcing facilities policy and procedures with clients, tenants, and their contractors.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Under the guidance of the Facilities Director, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Perform daily checklists, reviews, and inspections of all equipment on a regular basis.
  • Performing preventive and daily maintenance on all mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure facility HVAC, Electrical, water, and plumbing are in proper working conditions for tenants' use.
  • Assess equipment and system breakdowns and determine the kind of repairs that are needed.
  • Repair and install equipment as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have experience and working knowledge of Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Must have practical skills and experience with carpentry, masonry, and painting.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret complex instruction manuals for HVAC, telecommunications, security, fire safety, sound, lighting, audio-visual, and digital recording systems.
  • Must poses excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, rain, or cold weather for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, or be in a laydown position for an extended period of time, up to an entire shift, depending on the task assigned.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds on a regular basis.  
  • Must be able to work in tight, confined spaces, underground, suspended work areas, and at heights that can exceed 60’ in the air.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team.
  • Must have and maintain a California Driver’s License (CDL), and be eligible to be insured by our insurance provider.
  • Must maintain equipment certification including but not limited to Forklift, Gene Lift, Boom Lift, etc.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must be able to remain calm in a crisis, as well as high-pressure events and situations.
  • Must have good computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, and Email.
  • Must have excellent Problem-Solving Skills: the ability to quickly solve issues.
  • High-level organization skills and attention to detail, including architectural details.
  • Maturity and flexibility in working with a diverse membership with competing priorities.

Position:             Accounting Manager

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Manages professional-level accounting functions and prepares reports, including earnings, profits/losses, cash balances, and cost accounting. Confirms the accuracy of operating and financial statements. Advises upper management regarding matters, such as effective use of resources and methods. Interprets accounts and records for upper management. Analyzes records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred. Develops, installs, and maintains budgeting systems that provide control of expenditures made to carry out activities, such as advertising and marketing, production and labor, maintenance, or project activities. May recommend future financial plans and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the recording of the company’s financial accounts and records. Duties will include checking accounting records for accuracy, tracking invoices and payments, and maintaining a system for organizing company documents. Working knowledge of QuickBooks, budgeting, and monthly financial reports are critical.

The Finance Manager will perform a variety of financial and administrative duties as required by daily operations @the Grounds, including but not limited to the following:

  • Processes invoices and maintains financial records;
  • Oversee deposits and check writing;
  • Reconciling bank statements and ledgers;
  • Prepare and work with Auditors for Annual Audit and Tax Filings;
  • Prepares and maintains various financial reports, including but not limited to monthly financials, event and employee expenditures, and other pieces needed for Board and committee meetings;
  • Work as a liaison with various outside vendors and contractors to maintain communications and accounts;
  • Work with third-party software systems such as Square and Saffire;
  • Ensures controls of event-driven revenue streams, including parking, concessions, and rentals;
  • Works with staff to help increase ATG usage and revenues;
  • Proactively reviews operating expenses and recommends efficiencies;
  • Develop, maintain, and recommend office procedures and systems as related to financial accounting;
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, event producers, the general public, external organizations, and others;
  • Carries out research projects and financial analysis for GM as needed;
  • Provides office administrative support in the areas of finance, report preparation, and staff communication;
  • Oversee/supervise the Office Administrator position.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The Finance Manager will be upbeat, positive, outgoing, personable, and able to relate well with diverse individuals and groups;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
  • Great attention to detail and ability to multi-task;
  • Basic accounting knowledge and best practices;
  • Proficient in QuickBooks accounting;
  • Minimum of Associate Degree and 3-5 years of office experience, BBA preferred:
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Word, Excel, and other standard office software and equipment;
  • Punctuality and ability to accept responsibility;
  • Experience in office and financial management;
  • Experience in non-profits and event centers is preferred;
  • A courteous and professional manner in working with people; and
  • A demonstrable track record of consistent success in a professional environment.
